The Kite Club and Skinnies are proud to bring you Boost, the 2021 New Zealand Big Air Competition.

We’re calling on the entire NZ kite community to come together and Boost to support Surf Life Saving NZ.

100% of the event proceeds will go towards the legends at Surf Life Saving NZ who volunteer to keep us safe in, and around the water! Donate NOW.

We’ve locked in epic sponsors who have generously donated some HUGE spot-prizes so all you’ve got to do is register and participate on the day to be in to win big!

HOW TO REGISTER

We understand it’s hard to register without a set fixed date, so we will reach out to everyone who registered once a date has been confirmed, asking you to confirm your participation.

For those of you who think "But what if I donate to reserve my spot and then can't make it on the day?". Well, let's just say your donation is still greatly appreciated!

COST OF REGISTRATION

Registration for the event involves a minimum $40 donation to Surf Life Saving New Zealand.  100% of the event profits go to Surf Life Saving New Zealand.

If you'd like to make a voluntary donation you can do so here

RULES
  • Each rider must donate at least $40 to register for the competition by filling in the registration form

    • Spaces are limited so we strongly recommend registering as soon as possible. However, if there are places available, we will accept registrations on the day.

    • The BOOST Challenge only requires registration on the day.

  • Each rider must meet the criteria of the division they are competing in.

  • Each rider must wear the coloured competition shirt (provided by us) during their heat/s.

  • The riders must stay within the competition zone as marked by flags on the beach.

  • While out on the water, riders have to follow the general right of way rules of kitesurfing.

  • The Judges' decisions are final and must be accepted by all riders

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS

We will offer the following divisions in this order: Groms, Novices, Open Womans, Open Mens, BOOST CHALLENGE.

We will run each division beginning to end before moving on to the next one. Each division will be run in 7-10 minute heats with 7-10 riders whereby the two riders that jump the highest will progress into the next round until there's only 4 riders left who will make up the final. Each heat will be judged by a group of experts (as defined by us...).

At the end of each division, the rider who boosted the highest will be the winner. So it's not about who can show the coolest tricks - though we like to see those too. But in the end, it's all about height (it's called BIG Air for a reason).

Can you or your business help us out? We'd love to hear from you.
